Because of His strength will I wait upon thee: for God is my defence.

In ancient times, people had fortresses for protection. A fortress was armed to the teeth to make it impenetrable to enemies. It served as protection to the king and his people in times of danger. Even today, living without a defense mechanism is tantamount to recycled pain. The Psalmist sings of his confidence in the Lord Jesus Christ. He is comforted in the knowledge of God’s strength and protection.

We need a fortress we can run into for safety. Proverbs 18:10 says that the name of the Lord is a strong tower the righteous can go and find security from dangers. What dangers are the righteous shielded from? We face many dangers in our daily lives, including attacks from satan in various forms. satan is able to launch assaults on your health, your marriage, your family, your job, your ministry, and everything good God is doing for you. It’s only when we rejoice and trust in the strength of God and make Him our fortress that we are safe from the wiles of the enemy.

The enemy runs around like a roaring lion seeking for whom to devour. But we are not victims when we dwell in the secret place of the Most High and abide under the shadow of His wings.

Prayer:

Dear Lord almighty Heavenly Father, I come to You for help. You have always been my keeper time after time. You infinite love me and care for me through all you’re precious divine ways , that I may not perish but enjoy the fullness of life in all its blessings and favors. I run to You every day because without You, I have no strength to overcome the trials, tribulations, and temptations the enemy throws at me. I know that my life is secure in You. Eternally, I’m safe in the fortress of the Almighty because Your light can never be overcome by the darkness of evil. I know I’m safe in Your hands now and forever. Thank you Lord I can’t think about a life without you and I’m so very grateful and blessed to receive you every single moment of my life. Bless you Lord almighty Heavenly Father and keep me safe and let my heart rejoice from you’re glorious fulfilling name forevermore. I pray this throughout the mighty wonderful name of Jesus Christ. Amen.
