Psalms 106:48

Blessed be the LORD God of Israel from everlasting to everlasting: and let all the people say, Amen. Praise ye the LORD. “Psalms 106:48′

The psalmist concludes Psalm 106 with a final call to praise the Lord, the God of Israel, for His steadfast love and faithfulness to His people. The psalm recounts the history of Israel’s rebellion against God, but it also reveals God’s constant mercy towards them. The final verse acknowledges that the Lord alone is worthy of praise, and it is a fitting end to a psalm that both acknowledges the sins of the people and celebrates God’s unwavering love for them.

David’s recollection in this section, starting with suffering and pain, touches on various emotions as he remembers God’s covenant with Abraham and his descendants. He reflects on the nation’s early days, Joseph’s ascension to power, and the Plagues of Egypt, which led to the Passover, the Exodus, the journey through the wilderness, their entry into the Promised Land, and the numerous occasions of Israel’s disobedience.

David, the Psalmist, concludes this fourth section with a warning against ingratitude, murmuring, self-will, idolatry, and disobedience. Despite this, he ends on a joyful note, offering much of praise and thanksgiving in response to the rapturous rejoicing that he experiences. AMEN! Praise the LORD!
