Pass through the host, and command the people, saying, Prepare you victuals; for within three days ye shall pass over this Jordan, to go in to possess the land, which the LORD your God giveth you to possess it. “Joshua 1:11′
As Joshua assumed leadership of the Israelites, he received a word from the Lord, directing him to lead the people into the land that He had promised to their forefathers. God’s instructions were very clear: the Israelites were to cross the Jordan River, take possession of the land, and drive out the inhabitants of the land. In response to God’s command, Joshua gave orders to the officers of the people, preparing them for the task that lay ahead.
As Joshua was confronted with the challenge of leading the Israelites into the Promised Land, we too are faced in similar dilemma to battle for our faith in God. Each day, we must fight to maintain our trust in God’s marvelous righteous Word and to believe that His promises are fulfilled through Jesus Christ. We must fully accept that the battle is not ours but the Lord’s, and that our victory has already been secured through Jesus Christ.
Christians are not only saved by faith but are also called to live by faith in through the Son of God. We are to base our decisions and actions not on our feelings, intuition, or any other human reasoning, but on our trust in the Lord Jesus Christ. May we walk in the Spirit and in truth, continually surrendering our own understanding and submitting to His guidance.
Prayer:
Dear almighty Heavenly Father, I thank and bless You for Your marvelous righteous Word that reminds me that the battle is not mine but Yours. Help me to always remember that victory comes through faith in You. Strengthen me to fight the good fight of faith each day and to trust in Your great wonderful fulfilling promises. I pray that You grant me the grace to rely on You completely and not on my own understanding. Thank You, Lord dear Heavenly Father, for being my strength and my shield. I pray throughout the mighty glorious healing name of you’re son Jesus Christ. Amen!
The LORD bless you,
and keep you. The LORD make His face
shine on you, and be gracious to you.
