SYMBOLISM – BIBLICAL COLORS AND THEIR MEANING.

Biblical Symbolism deals with the biblical use of everyday objects to symbolize spiritual truth. Jesus ‘ teaching was full of symbolism. He presented Himself as a Shepherd, a Sower, a Bridegroom, a Door, a Cornerstone, a Vine, Light, Bread, and Water. He likened the kingdom of heaven to a wedding feast, a seed, a tree, a field, a net, a pearl, and yeast. There are dozens, if not hundreds, of other symbols in the Bible. When God appeared unto Noah after the flood,

and placed a rainbow in the sky; he did much more than show him a phenomenon. In the seven colors, beginning with red and ending with purple, God was displaying a natural miracle that demonstrated the complete redemption of man.

BIBLICAL COLORS AND THEIR MEANING;

In the world of art, we have three primaries; red, yellow and blue. These cannot be formulated by mixing. They come from the earth; but with these three colors, and the addition of black and white, any shade of the ctru can be obtained. Herein lies a thought provoking, scriptural principle, for in red, we have a Hebrew word ” OUDEM” which means “red clay.” It is the root word from which we get Adam, Esau, and Edom; all of which speak of flesh. So at the very

outset, we have something that cannot be created or controlled by man. An exact counterpart of our first primary color in nature.

Red: Blood of Jesus (Ephesians 1: 7), love of Christ (Romans 8: 35-36), blood of the Lamb, atonement (Leviticus 14: 52-53), redemption (Galatians 3:13), salvation (Joshua 2: 18-21)

Yellow:  Faith and glory of God (Romans 4:20), anointing (Exodus 25:6) enlightenment, Joy (Isaiah 55:1; Nehemiah 8:10). The second primary is yellow.Fire which is always used in

the purification process comes in the category of yellow. So once again even though we cannot make yellow, in the same way man has nocontrol over trouble

Blue/ Sapphire: Law/ commandments (Numbers 15:38-41), heaven (Ezekiel 1:26), revealed God (Exodus 24:10), grace (Romans 6:14; Hebrew 4:16), the Priesthood (Exodus 28:31), water of the Word and authority (Ephesians 5:26), prayer, river of God (Revelation 22:1-2; 17), over-comer (1 John 4: 4; Revelation 3:21), living water (John 7:38-39), Holy Spirit, divine revelation (Hebrews 10:15-16) This is the reason heaven above is blue, for it speaks to us of the eternal presence of YAHWEH. The color of God’s chosen nation, the people of Israel, is blue, dating back to the time of David

result will be purple (royalty or priesthood).
